So here we are on another social media platform, albeit one that has a familiar face.

In the five years that have passed, I’ve published two novels, edited my first anthology, and published numerous short stories in other people’s anthos.

I’m still tattooing. Four and a half years ago, we gutted the shop and rebuilt it from scratch. The new name is Timeless Craft Tattoo Gallery.

My kids are now eighteen, sixteen, and almost fourteen. The oldest is looking at a double major in biology and bio-med. The middle son is going to a local technical college for the first part of his day working on his automotive mechanics certifications and will continue there after he graduates high school next year. My youngest is finishing up middle school and still dancing (eleven years now).

I had my gallbladder out almost three years ago to my great relief.

Let’s see where this thing goes now.

Whoo hoo!

Some of you have known about this, some not, but it is now official.

I am under contract to J. Ellington Ashton Press. That means I am officially an author.

It's kind of cool that a hobby is starting to go somewhere. As soon as I have a release date for one of the books that I am in, I'll let everyone know.

For all my friends who have been waiting, the anthology containing an excerpt from the book I have been writing has been released.

It is available for free d/l for the next two weeks. After that, all proceeds go to the Wounded Warrior Project.

If you d/l it for free, I highly encourage you to donate a couple bucks to Wounded Warrior Project anyway.

Feel free to share this post with your friends as well.

Well, looking back at my Books I Have Read for the last year and got sad. I didn't read as much as I have the last few years. Positively pitiful compared to some of my friends. I guess I need to change that in the coming year.

Then again, it is a hell of a lot more than most people in our society.

Here is the List. )

I agree with the "get out of debt completely" option but I also would buy the shop I work at.
Although I am nowhere near as well-read as some of my friends, I still knocked a few out in my spare time.

In the weirdness that can be my life, I now own Frankenhooker's dog. Horror fan geek-out!

Patty Mullen, who played the title role in Frankenhooker, gave my family her Brussels Griffon today. He is an adorable little guy who should fit in wonderfully. I believe we are naming him Frankie.

I know that I have some friends on here who are twisted enough to enjoy this film involving tentacular horror sex.

Comedy Central gives Futurama new future

Posted Wed Jun 10, 2009 12:18pm AEST

It's back to Futurama for fans of the animated series.

Taking a page from the Family Guy resurrection guidebook, the cancelled Fox animated comedy is returning with an order from Comedy Central for 26 new episodes to run over two seasons.

Futurama creators Matt Groening and David X Cohen are already working on stories for the new batch of episodes of the sci-fi cartoon, slated to premiere in mid-2010.

Just as with Family Guy, whose improbable return was triggered by big DVD sales and solid ratings for the show's reruns on Cartoon Network, the performance of Futurama's repeats on Comedy Central and on DVD was key to its resurrection.

Futurama, which aired on Fox for five seasons - from 1999 to 2003 - centres on Philip Fry (Billy West), a 25-year-old pizza delivery boy who accidentally freezes himself on December 31, 1999, and wakes up 1,000 years later with a fresh start at life and a "diverse" new group of friends including Leela (Katey Sagal), a tough but lovely one-eyed alien, and Bender (John DiMaggio), a robot who possesses human characteristics and flaws.

When the series returns with original episodes in 2010, it will be seven years after the show's last original episode aired on Fox. That's a much longer hiatus than the three years Family Guy spent on the bench before being summoned back by Fox.

All key voice cast members are expected to return for the new episodes, along with the series' core writing team.
I am starting to educate the next generation of gamer, in my house at least. I just ordered the old 1980 version of the Basic Dungeons & Dragons rules with The Keep On The Borderlands so that I can start Dorian down the path to the Dork Side. Luckily, I have the original character sheets saved to disc somewhere so I can just print them off as I need.

Anybody have any old Basic D&D stuff they don't want anymore? I know of an awesome little boy who would get a lot of use out of it.

On the geek side, the wife and kids went to Disney for the weekend and they spent Sunday at Hollywood Studios for the first weekend of Star Wars Weekends. Jenn sent me a couple pics she took waiting to get in.

While waiting to get in, Dorian was waving his lightsaber around, attracting the attention of the stormtroopers on guard duty. He was shot on sight for brandishing a weapon used by the outlawed Jedi Order.

Have you ever seen anyone so happy to get shot?
Directions: Comment to this post and I will give you 5 subjects/things I associate you with. Then post this in your LJ and elaborate on the subjects given.

These are [livejournal.com profile] kittenkatt's words

Music - Music has always been a big part of my life. I think it comes from growing up in a house that listened to a diverse selection of tunes. I have music as a constant throughout my life, with different styles always reinserting themselves. I even got to do it as a profession for a while, not in a band but DJing for 3 years in DC. I cannot do my job well without music.

Fatherhood - One of the best things I ever did. Having kids gave my life a necessary direction and has gotten me to settle down get things in control and have some goals.

Ink - Ink is life. Anybody who knows me knows I am covered in it and have made my goal to cover the world in it as well. Tattooing is my second most favorite thing in life. For number one, see the entry above this one.

Memories - We'll always have Paris. Oh wait, that is someone else. Sadly, the older I get, the more memories fade. That is why I am glad to have found a lot of old friends on Facebook to help bring them back.

Collecting - Collecting is not a hobby or pastime. It is a sickness. I have always been a collector. My DVDs are now up to over 1400 where as I got rid of a bunch of the over 2000 paper books I once owned since I have moved over to the digital realm. Then again I have over 48GB of ebooks that I can install on my Digital Book. Then we get to music (to take things full circle). I sold all of my CDs to [livejournal.com profile] saintaspartame to finance a swingset for the kids but once again I am in the digital realm. I have and 80 GB iPod with way more music than I could fit on that. We are talking 186GB of MP3s in my My Music folder. Like I said, a sickness it is. Hi, I'm Fish and I am an addict. I am a media whore.

Mentor- I have served this role to many people but none have been as fulfilling as being Jill's inttial teacher and starting on a path that as lit up her life.

Florida - Too damn hot but is a much better area for business and the family.

Horror movies - Horror movies are one of my greatest loves and guiltiest pleasure when it comes to cinema. I will sit through the most god-awful film if it involves a Lovecraft story or zombies...just because.

Catacomb - Catacomb was a fantastic experience, celebrating my love of music with as many DC Freaks as I could. Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] djkangal and [livejournal.com profile] robertthemerciless for helping me in this pursuit.

2 liters of Mtn Dew - This was my lifeblood in my many years for gaming sessions. I have since forsaken the antifreeze looking beverage in its green bottle. I now drink Double Gulps of Coke Zero. Cheaper and no calories.

Tattoos- see above

Artwork - Artwork has always been as much of a part of my life as music. I was ridiculed for it in high school nad I am now one of the coolest fuckers around because of it.

Fatherdom - once again, see above.

Oh wait, that is Festivus. I got that one wrong.

I will have to go with Apu as well. I have an Apu magnet on my toolbox at work that I got at...7-11. So wrong yet so right.

"Would you like to see my Ganesha carved from beef jerky? (Also so wrong LOL) Please so not offer my god a peanut!"

I think he is closely followed by Groundskeeper Willy.

"If elected mayor, my first act will be to kill the whole lot of ya and burn this town to cinders."

Perfect for when I am irritable.
If you saw me in the back of a police car, what would you think I was there for? Answer me, then post this in your own journal (or, you know, don't) to see how many different crimes you get accused of committing.
