Jun. 6th, 2008 11:47 amSo in about a month (hopefully) I will be getting a scooter to get to and from work in a more affordable manner. I am looking at the Yamaha Vino 125. I cannot get a 50cc engine as it goes too slow for the road I will be driving it on so most of the cool stylish options are out. I would love to get a Vespa but it costs more than I can justify.
So I have a question for anybody who has owned a scooter or been close to someone who has. Is there anything I need to know about that I may not already? In FL, you do not need a motorcycle certification for your driver's license. It is a 4 stroke engine, so no mixing oil with the gas. I will be getting helmets and wearing them. I don't think they NEED to be insured although I will.
