We adopted a pure bred Yorkshire Terrier last night. Her previous owners (who paid a stupid amount of money for her in Hawaii) let a minor fungal infection go untreated to the point that they were considering putting her down. That is outright stupid IMNSHO. You don't kill your little brother for getting athlete's foot (although it may be tempting). The woman who rescued her has been treating it for a while and brought her up last night, presumably for a visit to make sure we would be good owners. She never made it in the house, we were fawning over the little sweetie so much. She still needs to go to the vet for the next couple weeks to get dipped for the skin condition. She also has skin allergies such as an allergy to fleas, making her an inside dog. No walks in the park for this pampered little princess. We got her medical records as well as all her paperwork including her AKC registration form which we will be sending off. We don't plan to breed her or start hitting the dog show circuit but I think it is neat to own an AKC registered dog after a lifetime of mutts. Lovable mutts tho.

It is so sad that she was abused like that. She is such a little sweetheart. SHe didn't want me to leave for work this afternoon. She followed me right to the door. She then proceeded to become Jenn's shadow for the rest of the day. She is now sleeping beside the boys, protecting them, I like to think.
