Still waiting on Frances
Sep. 4th, 2004 10:06 amThe hurricane still has not fully arrived in our area. It is about 100 miles off coast as of 8AM. We have started getting a little of the rain and wind, but it still is not here. Luckily, Frances has been downgraded to a Class 2 hurricane rather than the 4 it was 2 days ago.
The news said FPL (Florida Power & Light for those of your elsewhere)will cut the power services if the winds reach 35 MPH. That is still a possibility. Hopefully, it will be a while before they cut it.
That is all.
Still alive and extremely claustrophobic in FL,
Fish
EDITED TO ADD: I was wrong about FPL. On the news they said they were cancelling service if it went over 35MPH. It meant they were cancelling service calls for power outages. They won't actually turn off power until the lines are down and being a danger.
