I am in Horror Geek Heaven
Jan. 31st, 2004 11:48 pmI have made friends recently with this guy in my area who is a major underground horror nut. He is in the process of burning all of his VHS tapes to DVD and wants to clear out his tapes so I am getting my choice for next to nothing, esp. compared to prices that some people are paying. Most are recordings rather than factory orignals, but some are factory issue.
In my first batch, I got Lucio Fulci's The Smugglers, Hell of the Living Dead The Faceless, an original of Meet the Feebles, and Erotic Nights of the Living Dead (mmmm Zombie porn).
Today I got two original GWAR videos (Phallus in Wonderland and SkulHedFace), Zombie Holocaust, Cannibal Holocaust, She Kills in Ecstacy, Dario Argento's Deep Red, Mountain of the Cannibal God (with Stacy Keach and Ursella Andress), Lucio Fulci's City of the Living Dead aka Gates of Hell and Zombie aka Zombi2 (not the Argento cut of Dawn of the Dead), and A Bell from Hell.
Eventually, my goal will be to get a DVD burner and convert all of my VHS (over 1000 movies before I started acquiring pieces of his collection) to DVD and then I will have to do someone else the favor and pass them on yet again.
I almost picked up a factory original of John Water's Desperate Living, but my stomach cannot take that movie. I can watch someone's heas being ripped apart with a bandsaw (ever seen the Worlock video?) but I can't stomach Divine eating dog shit. Maybe I'm just weird.
